Transaction Type:

Deal Value:

The sale of BIS, the independent data centre operator, to Six Degrees Group (6DG), completes another advisory role in the hosting sector for Oakley Capital Corporate Finance (“Oakley”). With 200 customers and 30 staff, BIS provides corporate hosting and private cloud services from datacentres in Central London.

The acquisition adds £16m of revenues and significant scale to 6DG’s hosting portfolio. It also develops the Group’s presence in Europe’s largest data centre market, positioning 6DG as one of a small number of colocation providers with both Central London and outside M25 datacentres.

Six Degrees Group is a privately owned managed data services provider serving UK mid-market and corporate customers. The Group has a converged services portfolio – including data centre, connectivity, voice and cloud offerings.

Chris Godsmark, Joint Managing Partner and Chris Brooks, Director, worked with BIS.

Chris Godsmark said,

“hosting continues to be one of our strongest industry sectors at Oakley and the BIS deal underlines our coverage of the market. We continue to see many consolidation opportunities in the hosting sector, which remains fragmented despite a continuing flow of transactions.”
